Stomal Therapy Week June 2025

An invitation to participate in Stomal Therapy Week which is being celebrated during the week of 23-29 June 2025.

This year Australian and New Zealand stomal therapy nurses are collaborating to spread the message of celebrating ‘Ostomateship’ across both countries. Ostomateship is recognising the connection between ostomates and those who support them. These supporters include families, carers, ostomy associations, support groups, industry, stomal therapy nurses and other members of the health care team.

Stomal Therapy Week is a marvellous opportunity to celebrate ostomates and the many people that contribute to their wellbeing. We would be grateful if you would promote Stomal Therapy Week and the Ostomateship message throughout your networks, including your state stoma support groups.

There are a range of items that can be downloaded from the Australian Association of Stomal Therapy Nurses website eg poster, screensaver and email footer, I have attached them to this email for your convenience, but they are also available via the link: https://stomaltherapy.au/australian-stomal-therapy-week/

Ostomateship merchandise can be purchased from Redbubble, link:  https://www.redbubble.com/people/AASTNmerch/shop?asc=u

Also attached are:

  • 5 keys messages that we have produced to accompany our 2025 campaign. Please feel free to share with your members and networks
  • A copy of a fillable letterhead that you may like to use to share your own messages with your members about Stomal Therapy Week (we are only sharing the fillable letterhead to be used by Australian Ostomy Associations)

Thank you for the part your team plays in providing emotional support, practical assistance, and encouragement to ostomates and their supporters. Your contributions do not go unnoticed and are deeply appreciated.

We are happy to discuss any ideas you have to celebrate Stomal Therapy Week 2025 and look forward to hearing about your local campaigns.
